2004 GNCC Awards Banquet
It is amazing how quickly this year has come and gone. It seems like it was only yesterday every one was preparing to head to Texas for the Opening Round of the GNCC Series.
After an incredible year of racing, it was time for everyone to get together recognize the top riders in the GNCC Series.
Once Again, the event was held East of downtown Morgantown, WV along Cheat Lake.

The Banquet was held at Lakeview Resorts, which sits up on a hill overlooking the lake below, which is obviously how they came up with the name:D.
Unlike last year, when the Banquet was held in January and the ground was covered in snow, the golf course grass that surrounded the resort was showing it bright green color.

John Cunningham took some time to talk with Johnny Gallagher and congradulate him on his Vet/Senior Rider of the Year
Award at the AMA Sports Banquet.
Along the years, Johnny Gallagher Sr. and John Cunningham raced against each other in the Senior Class and had some close encounters along the way, and they still remain friends.
Johnny Gallagher is a truly amazing individual to be in the great racing condition he is in at the age of 58 (Sorry Johnny:cool:). He amazed everyone with his overall ride at Big Buck this past spring, and he completely dominated the Super Senior Class.
Johnny didn't even start riding ATVs until he was in his 40's and that was only because of a bet from his ATV racing son, Johnny Gallagher. Boy did Johnny prove his son wrong, and he hasn't got off an ATV Since.

Brandon Sommers was looking spiffy in his shirt & tie, and he had plenty to smile about. Brandon switched to riding ATVs only last year, and started racing the GNCC series after the summer break in 2003. He made his start in the 1st year Racers and finished all four races higher than 12th, and he went on to win the last race of the year at the Iron Man.
After training hard all winter, he moved up to the C Class 16-24 Age Group. He went on to place 3rd or higher in the class every race that he finished, and mounted up five wins along the way.
Once he wrapped up the class Championship, he moved to Stock Class and once again, he proved that dedication and hard work can put you on top of you game. He finished all three Stock Class Races in the top three Overall.
He wasn't finished yet, so for the Iron Man, he moved to B Class for the 1st time, and grabbed himself another win for the season, and he finished 43rd Overall.
Congratlulations Brandon on an incredible 1st complete race season, and I glad to see that you are taking your racing career one step at a time and learning the ropes as you move to the top.

Racer Production celebrated the 20th year of GNCC racing by presenting a video clips from the past days of GNCC racing when they race three wheelers.
The videos were a hit and everyone kept their eyes focused on the TVs around the room.
