I borrowed my brother's '82 xr 250, and in return I have to fix it.
It has a SEVERE oil leak from the cylinder head cover. Now is there supposed to be a gasket there, or maybe a shim? is this a common problem? the previous owner stripped out most of the bolts that hold this thing on, so I will heli-coil them, but do i need to machine the head or just replace the whole deal?
Will a 400 cylinder fit on a 250 bottom? I'm open to any suggestions.
