pull the plastic and the tank off of the bike, spray some type of cleaner around the top of the head(remove the dirt and dust),remove the two covers one for the timing mark the other to access the crank, remove the four valve caps, use a 17mm socket and rotate the crank counter-clockwise and align the T mark then check to see if you can wiggle the rocker arms if there still tight turn it another revolution and check again. Then just set the intake at .004 and the exhaust at .005. Simple as that.

Cam, not crank. Cam up top in head, crank in bottom end. Split case to access crank.

No, crank .... Rotate crank. If you rotate the crank the piston will go up to top dead center then back to bottom dead center. And the cam will rotate also,,...pay attention Scott you may learn something here. We have to have the lobes of the cam facing downwards to properly adjust the valves.. Scott. ...Scott did get one thing right, the crank is in the bottom of the engine, but we don't have to split the cases to access it. If ya need any more help larryp feel free to ask.....hint hint just dont ask Scott.:D
