Well, After reading all the rave reviews on this site about the Badlands, Me and buddy drove over there today and checked it out.
$15 to ride and $10 flag (required)

First I wanna say, all you guys that live close to this ridding area are some lucky shiznits!!!!!!

This place is awsome.. Pretty much have any type of ridding you wanna do, Sand, Rocks, Trails, mud, water, Hill climbs etc etc etc, Everything BUT an MX track.. Least from what I seen there wasnt one.

There are mud holes that will swallow your quad, so you gotta be careful going into blind mud holes hehe. Seen a few Trucks buried up to their hood and a couple quads with just handlebars sticking of the water hehehe...

If you been considering going, DO IT!!! well worth the trip and Entry fee is cheap imho......

How big is the badlands. can you ride pretty much all day an not hit the same trails? Or is it more of a big play area with hills and stuff?
Thanks

Its around 900 acres, mostly a big play area.

ya, alot of it is the sand/pea gravel hills.
Though we did find a nice trail system that was about a 6 mile loop

it is close to 1000 acres and you can hit about anything you want and yes they have a moto-x track for bikes only they have a special area for just kids to ride i live like 15 min away and yes it is nice to be able to ride there when ever plus the people who run it arte great just a few tips to keep you out of trouble there

#1 no alcohol allowed in the park at all
#2 flags required
#3 helmets at all times while riding
#4 no speeding in parking areas
#5 no riding double

that is probably the most common rules broken people get kicked out for but if you follow the rules you will have more fun than y ou can shake a stick at have fun and ride safe jon

It's actually like 700 acres I think the website says. And yes, it is nice living close, to bad my quad is 2 hours away at home though.:grr: If I had a place to keep it here at school, I'd be there lots more.

Everytime my friends and I go we have a great time. We live about an hour away so we make it there a lot. There is plenty to do for all types of riders, so I would recommend it highly also.

we were just there on sunday 3-28-04, the weather was perfect, and it was just wet enough to keep the dust down on the trails.
though someone did get hurt there, there were lots of ambulances there, but we never found out what happened.
also a stock jeep got stuck in the pipes, and when they pulled it out it floated for a minute then sunk in chest deep water.

hehe, I seen that jeep... He was stuck there for hours....

Beyond that, by the creek, there was pickup with its front end buried up to its hood too hehe.. That had to suck!!!!

Seen a few 450R's and buttload of yammy450's killing the hills....

Yes, dirt bikes are welcome!

Dirtbikes are welcomed, but-but, if you like trails your fine...but the rest of the park is sand and small shell...it's make for hard riding. Everytime we've taking bikes there, they didn't have much fun.

Thats not what i heard cuzz i am going to Haspin here pretty soon but i heard the Badlands are bad***** to so its kinda hard to decide never been to either of them but ill probaly like them both. you can also camp out there right?..STUPID QUESTION TO ASK BUT MAKING SURE. and how are you suppose to put a flag on a dirtbike. and can dirtbikes ride on any trails that they want or do they have to stick with certain trails...

You can ride anywhere at the Badlands with any machine. I've never been to Haspin. I've heard it's really rocky, but that's only hear say. The badlands has everything to offer. Trails, chiprock pits, sand dunes, mud holes. A great place to ride. They have a camp grounds really close, along with hotels.
I highly recommend the Badlands!!

I love to trail ride, and climb hills, But if your looking for trails, the Badlands is worthless in my opnion. They have a bunch of like peagravel/sandy stuff with alot of hills, And the trails that they do have are so rutted up that u almost need a 4x4 to go threw, expecally if you dont want to get your race quad muddy all the time! Its probley worth the trip every couple years or so, but im not looking forward to going back for a least 2 years!

I live only 30 min or so from the Badlands, and I must say that it is one great place to ride.

There are actually quite a few good trails there, however, some of them are difficult to find. It's easy to think that you've covered the whole place until you ride with someone who knows it like the back of their hand (ME). :D

Some of the best trails are in the lower lying areas of the park, but when it rains, they typically flood.

IMHO, it's worth taking a trip to the Badlands several times a year, not once every two years!! Where else in the area can you get such a wide range of terrains to ride on all in one place?

Let me know if you have any more questions...I'd be glad to give you more info about the place.
