The A class wasnt the only ones racing at Tomahawk and a great turnout of quads filled the ranks of the 2 Stroke, 4 stroke B and Vet classes.

Before the race i caught this rider napping in the sun while using his trust 250ex as a couch. :p

Pappy
03-28-2004, 08:40 PM
You will have to forgive me because local races are very hard to place a name with a quad unless i know who you are.

The first class out after A class had a clean looking YFZ wheely his way up the hill grabbing the holeshot in the process!

Hello, Pappy and Harlen. I met you guys yesterday for the first time. Great pics Pappy! But, I don't see me .....I guess I was too far back. I ended up 7th in B class. Thats about my norm with a big turnout. I would appreciate if you could look through your pics for me....red 400ex, red Nac's headlight covers, red and black gear with grey chest protector. I saw you all over the place and it looked like you were taking shots when I went by. Anyway, it was nice meeting both of you guys and I will see you around district 6 and 7 races. My poor hands!!!!!!!my blisters are leaking onto the keyboard as I type:huh Later, Doug

Pappy, I talke to you briefly right after the bikes started. I was standing there with 400exvet. I also met Harlen. It was nice to put a face to the name.

Ok Ok ....in the last 2 pictures I got ALOT closer to them friggon tires then usual:( i had nailed Harlen and Rick racing thru the bottom and hauled *** to catch them coming thru the briar section. I just made it and had to jump across the track to get the right angle. well, I jumped right into a sticker bush:grr: which proceeded to tangle my feet up real damn good. As I took harlens pic and the quad behind him I was actually falling back into the track:eek: As soon as the 2nd quad passed me I was on my knee's right in the way:p Lucky for me I got my *** outta there...but not before catching this shot of rider 3X:macho

Thats when santo took this boy to school:macho He nailed the rear brakes and power~slid that YFZ for about 15 feet passing the lapper in the process:devil: i dont think that guy knew what hit him:eek:

Come on Pappy don't dis me too bad...I knew someone was back there and I gave them plenty of room all the way around but I didn't want to stop to let them around. I did know that I did not want them behind me in that next section so I definately gave him the room on that turn into the woods. Not that he wouldn't have taken me to school if I didn't give in. That woods section that were about to go into was a long straight sort of rocky WFO runway that dead ended with 2 trees off to the right that you could barely squeeze through. The straight section was sort of wide but there was always that little bit of fear of getting sideways and catching that tree in 3rd gear WFO.

Sad part about the whole race was that Borich and Santo pulled over after the start to let everyone by and then took off racing:eek2: I think they just wanted to teach everyone a lesson or just practice on their passing techniques..

Heck - They passed me by the beginning of the 3rd lap and was GONE!

Oh well - still had fun riding with the gods of the GNCC series..

Maybe you should see it as them actually giving you a shot at it. The fact is that when they are in front of the pack they are gone. This way you actually have a shot at it because they could encounter a lot of problems during the race with stragglers and such.

All they were doin was working on there passing skills. Perfect track to do it at since there was hardly any room for passing besdies the MX track..

The next harescramble is scheduled for Sunday April 18....unfortunately I will be still at Lorettas for the bike race.

May 23rd the band IRONBOSS www.ironboss.com presents the Ironboss Endurance race.
- $500 TO WIN QUAD CLASS
- 3 hours
- 2 riders 1 bike
- riders must switch every lap
- no 2 A riders together (yes Traci you can race with another girl)
- team must be one of the following A-B, A-C, B-C, B-B, C-C
- No AMA card required (Outlaw)
-$500 TO WIN FOR QUADS
- Quads will start at approx. 1:30 [/B]

It is pretty clear that this is a TEAM race....a Team consists of 2 people.....race entry is $30 per person...that would = $60 per team.
Race is at Tomahawk MX in Hedgesville, WV
Ther are no classes....this will be a LeMans/GP start with everyone battling for the win!! If there are 200 quads then 200 quads will start at the same time!

Well, I went over the Z last night and it wasn't pretty. I smashed one lower A-arm and blew the ball joint in the other A-arm. I must say that is sucks running shocks without Ressies after a race as fast and rugged as the Tomahawk.

Hey Pappy!.....Thanks for the pic of me in Santo's way. I showed it to my wife and she said " why is there smoke coming out of the back of yours and not his"? Well...I said that is because it is old and worn out and needs re(cough)placed(cough cough)!!!;) She didn't say anything after that...so that means I am now looking for a replacement 416 or 426 motor...THANKS AGAIN:devil: Hopefully I'll have it by next Tomahawk race....I'm gonna be in Vegas for a while maybe I can get real lucky and be able to buy a 450R when I get back instead!:macho

Just for the record Chris and Santo both pulled over just past the first turn and left the whole A class around them. Then the two of them went to play catch up. I ask Joey ( Chris's dad ) whats up with that? He said you can't learn anything when you lead the whole race.
Chris was flying. In less than a half a lap he picked up a min. on Andy, and Andy was movin also. Chris trailed Andy for a half a lap till they came back out on the MX track, Then he checked out on the big tabletop and was gone.
This was a race to watch. All the GNCC racers put on a show. I must say that Traci is one hell of a racer. She was smoother and faster than half the men.

yeah we all knew that but its not always best to basically just tell every racer on the track that i gave you a minute lead and still smoked you:p but it is a cool look behind what the pro's do to get better!!

We do not have a pro class...so Pro = A at the Ironboss race at Tomahawk.

so we can't have a GNCC pro and GNCC A class riders together?

No......I want to make this fair so that anybody, including a C and C combination has a chance to win.

And anybody in the top ten of Jr., Vet, and Sr. class in GNCC or MX will be considered an A class rider.

The race will incorporate both MX and Cross Country...using the majority of the MX track and using all jumps!

We want to make this race unique in that it has no class structure, will be fun for everybody, and give everyone a shot to win.
