thinking of gettin 450r

im having a hard time deciding if i wanna get the 450r, yfz450 or get the ct racing 440 hi output kit for my 400ex. i will be racing motocross and arenacross. from everything i hear the yfz is the better mx machine but i donno. how do yall like it on the mx track?

Well I haven't ridden the YFZ or 400EX on the track but I know there were a bunch that I was raceing against. With my 450R with the HRC kit I pretty much blew away all the 400EXs off the start and most all the YFZs too. The last race there was only one YFZ that holshoted me and he had an inside gate start and I was on the far outside. So I think my bike the way it is set up is probably pretty comperable to a 440EX with all the goodies. I love mine and wouldn't trade it for a Yami for nothing.

I really really like my 450r would not trade it for anything else either. :macho

the HRC kit is really a waste because as soon as you modify beyond that, the jets they give you are pretty crappy.

if you wanna mod, take what parts are in the HRC kit and get them from other makers.

Mabey you should go to bluetraxx and ask the same question !
I think you should do your own research and come up with the quad you like the best.
As for me i am 100% Honda all the way. quality means more to me than HP #s . If you were to look at both machines side buy side you would see the difference.Not that i have anything aginst yamaha i am just a loyal Honda fan.And if you go to bluetraxx they would tell you how the Honda sucks. So agin I say go do your own research and you decide witch one you want!!!!

i have a 450r. If u want to race mx and stuff i prolly would go with a yfz. but the 450r is just as much of a competitor. Its all your preference. I would stick with honda and either get the 440 kit or the 450r. Also i hear u get more usuable power from a 416 kit. But like i said its your decision.
