I had the chance today to kick it with some of the fastest riders in the gncc series today.

#28 Rick Cecco was hammering the Mx track all day and left more then a few tree's with his signature on it out in the woods:macho

It was really cool watching how they work and work on the quad and rider to get the most out of both.

i wish i would have been able to get more pictures of Santo and Rick. They spent alot of time fine tuning thier set ups and it just happened to coincide with when i was taking pictures.

After they got things dialed in we all went to the woods with me leading the way:eek: i pulled over after a mile to wait for Borichs brother, his bars came loose and we just made our way back to the trucks:(

i went back to my house and showered and when i returned maybe 30 minutes later them boys was flat haulin ***. they did maybe 10 laps when tragedy struck:(

Santo had hit this table top and was getting major air and on the second lap he had caught a bike rider. The bike rider went thru the berm with Santo close behind. I dont know what possessed the bike rider to do this, but he flat screwed the jump up. He went for the downside with way to much nose over and upon contact with the landing lost it big time. The whole time he is going down Santo is 20 feet in the air heading straight for him:( Santo laid on the body english and by the grace of god and his riding ability he was able to just narrowly miss the wrecked rider and bike. When the dust cleared Santo's rear tire was stopped just inches from the injured riders head:eek: Clearly Santo was shook up but man did he ever have a close one.

The bike rider was severly injured with a femur broken in several places and possibly a broken shoulder. It could have been tragic if not for luck and Santos ability to get his quad where it needed to be. me and Joe Borich took off running as we could see the take off of the jump but not the landing. We knew it wasnt good because it was silent when it should have been Santo hard on the gas after the landing. Thank god for Santo's safety as we expected to see him crashed.

Damn, good thing for the both of them that he was able to have enough skill to control his quad, because the guy on the bike could've been killed, and Santo could've been sued for running him over IF it happened. The mood is never pleasent when something like that happens...
