hmf with quiet core is still gonna be loud. your best bet is to just go with stock.

hmm, cut off your stock pipe near the end of the header, that will add power and it should still be quiet because its stock...plus you lose weight!:)

For the quietest pipe cut open your stock pipe remove all the internals except the baffle and weld it shut. My friend (michigan rider) did this with his stock pipe and had to go to a 128 MJ from 122 stock. It adds quite a bit of punch and is almost a sleeper, execpt for a ring around the pipe.

geessh, what's wrong with you guys trying to steer him in the wrong direction, sparks, lrd and cobra are far from quiet pipes

if you want quiet look into a TC http://www.exriders.com/vbb/images/icons/icon14.gif

Stick with stock dude, it'll save u money that u can put on somethin else, there might be queiter systems but for the money it isn't worthnit they won't be to much queiter and probally won't gain nothin... hope this helps.

Stock. Or modded stock. HMF w/quiet core.... IS NOT quiet in opinion..

I have CT on my Z. It is louder than stock, but it is a lot quieter than others that I here. I had it tested and it was 94db. Looks, fits, and perfoms good.

You might want to open the airbox up and jet it a little richer. That was my first mod for my Z and it gave a noticable power gain.

LTE system goes down to 93dB.

yeah those pipes are loud, and espesialy lrd, those things are lounder then my wb eseries, but hey, the kid is goining in the right direction tho, wanting the quietest pipe, hes not one of those people that are like "which pipe is loudest". ya know? so im proud of him for that, smart kid, but hey if u want a quiet pipe, but dont want much power, then yes, go with stock pipe, but if u want a pipe that looks cool or is polished and stuff, then go with fmf's the 'q'. havnt heard it, but its the only pipe i saw that actually said that its quiet in its adds, so thats got to be pretty quiet, ride on bro, good luck :)

Word.

I hate loud pipes, and even more I hate the mentality of people wanting to have the loudest pipe just to piss people off. Thats why riding areas get closed down. I run the stock pipe on my 440 unless I'm on a track..

i ran a stock pipe on the old 465.. and blew the friggin' thing clean off.

Wasn't smart :(

my megamax 2 is a lot quieter than my pro circuit t4. the megamax q-core makes it even quieter.

I was talking with someone from sparks the other day and he said sparks will have a quite pipe very soon. A pipe may cost you low end power. Sparks is supposed to be the best low end pipe I've read it has good gains at all rpm. But you already own a good low end pipe thats quiet. However I don't like loud O.R.V.s because the noise is bad for the sport. I say use your pipe fund for a piston. 86mm 10.6:1 JE is around $130. Bore and hone around $50. ALL the gaskets around $50. For under $300 you'll get mutch more power at EVERY rpm and still be quiet.

The new LTE Racing TRX400EX system is gainint a true 6 hp peak, and dB at under 90dB. A lot of people out there will throw tons of negative comments about the LTE dual system, but it is the only system I have seen that will actually make good power and keep the dB's way down.

HMF and White Brothers now have quiet pipes. Time for a quiet pipe shoot out.

Just went to LTE web sight. The 400ex system advertises 2.5-3 hp. and 93 db. It comes with a OPEN air box to move your battery. Looks cool, cost ?$$$$$$$? What about bottom end? Watter in air box? Where did you read 6hp. Any dyno charts, hp. and torque?

LTE has a new series out, they are USFS approved now, stainless pipes, and the dual 4" alumin scielencers. The system gains over the full RPM range, and the peak gain is around 6hp.

The web site hasn't quite caught up, they are going crazy trying to develop new systems, and keep up with demand.

the LTE's are louder now, cuz they put the raptor cans on them to add more (i ride with a guy that sells them) he has the old system on his 440. my MBRP is a way quiet pipe and it adds some power

How loud is an HMF with the quiet core and fresh repacking ? How loud without the quiet core!

hey, i have the hmf with quiet core. I can tell you that its not nearly as loud as my friends white brothers. The hmf isnt as ear pearcing, it just sounds nasty. Given i choice between the two i would definatly go with hmf. Its cheap and out performs wb. I havent tried it without the quiet core yet, probably should. If you want tommorow i can take it out and get back to you?

No, the LTE's are not louder now! The older 3" defuser disk style hit 96dB with 6 disks in both, and 93dB with 5 disks in. I know that those #'s were true, because I have been tested a couple of times along with LTE testing mine in front of me. The new 4" series, with the quiet core in them, are shooting 90dB or below.

I talked to sparks today and they said their quiet pipe should be out by the end of April. It'll have a screen type spark arrestor. They're shooting for 96 decibels. If it's available by then, is really 96decibels and can be had for under $500 I'll have one. Although I may just buy an HMF slip-on and let others exsperiment with the sparks and get one later.
