On this warm spring day, Harrisburg has come up with cold cash in an attempt to get all terrain vehicles off private property and out of state forests. The department of conservation and natural resources is in our region today, handing out over two million dollars to develop a site where ATV riders can ride. Most of that money is going to buy six thousand acres of land known as the rock run recreation area on the border of Cambria and Clearfield counties. The former coal mine is one of five sites around the state that will be developed as ATV parks.

its only 15 mins from my house... very close...

i'd rather have a quad riding place thou then a hunting spot... its in the town of westover and glendale area....


the thing is i'll believe it when i see it... bc pa sucks for quad trails:mad:

o great another riding area 4 hours away from me that i dont get to go to lol, they dont build nuthing here near me all they build is factorys, sorry just wanted to vent a little

6 hours or so from northern new jersey...


its 4200 acres for quads... 1800 acres for non motored trails...


glendale state park is right next to it with a HUGE campground... makes cheif logan look really bad and small... the trails are located probably 30 mins from altoona, hour from johnstown, 30 mins from clearfield...


i'm goin to take a ride over there today and see whats goin on...

banshee guy it'd be really easy to get to from ur house... go to glendale and down one dirt road and ur there...



there use to be a crane at the same place... it was the biggest crane this side of the mississippi... it walked around on these huge legs and would take a bite of dirt bigger then my house out of the ground... mean sob... i wonder if its still there... u can see it from miles away...
