I just got a durablue x-33 axle off a friend of mine w/hubs. And for some reason the hubs will not stay really ight. I will crank them on as tight as i can go w/o stripping it. But after riding for a little bit they will loosen up some just enough so I can wiggle my tires. I was wondering if some lock tight would solve this problem. Does anybody else have this problem with theirs. Also I do not want any dumb post about durablue or any flaming!

my stock hubs often do this....I just tighten the hub bolt down...eventually ill just buy new hubs...I dont think its my axle....my friend actually put ducttape around the axle so it would get some grip....seemed to work very well....his teeth on the axle were almost completely gone though

Mine always loosen on mine. I have a Losestar axle. I just tighten them every couple of rides or when I notice theyare loose.

I have tried just about everything. It has even sheared off the cotter pin once. I am glad I caught that before the wheel flew off.

I have the same axle, I have never had any problems. I woudl suggest taking off the hubs, cleaning both surfaces very well, adn replacing the bolt with a new one. Use locktight, and some kind of lock washer or nut.

If I were u i would throw that piece of junk away And put the stock axle back on because that X-33 is a Piece of J.U.N.K.:D
Just playing man your not good enough to break that thing.

haha very funny red..oh by the way these are durablue x-33 hubs and they are held on by a bolt that goes throught the top of the hub and into the top of the axle..there nothing like a stock ahub..but thanks anyways joe.

well i hope that we got it fixed., we used new bolts made of high test steel with really deep threads, two lock washers on each end, plus a lock nut. so hopefully this will work.

Ive had much experience with this problem: both with my 400 and my friend's Raptor with the same X-33. The problem is the chitty cast fiber-reinforced hubs that come with it. Over time the bolt with round out and wear the holes in the hubs down-making your rear tires wobble excessively. ALL the stock fiber hubs will do this. My hubs never personally broke, they just wobbled, but my friend's hub on his Raptor broke completely off at the MX track sending his whole rear tire flying. My other friend with a 250R has the same axle and he cracked his fiber hub just by clipping a tree. All three of us have solved all our problems with one solution: you have to throw down the 110 bucks or so and buy the upgraded Billet aluminum hubs for the X-33. You will never have to retighten or see your tires wobble ever again. Sorry for the long post but I wanted to share my experience with this dangerous part.

Once your hubs on the Durablue x-33 start to wobble, they will always wobble thereafter. I could never keep the hubs tight. I had a x-33 once for about a month. I'll never own another one again.

I have the X-33 and have had the hub loosen a couple times but it is just another thing I check before I ride!!

Yeah I just always check to make sure that they are tight now before i go ride. But hopefully me and my dad figured it out. We used high test steel bolts with very very deep threads, plus two lock washers(one on each end), and a lock nut. And after a test ride the other day it i working fine so far. Hope this solved the problem.

Ive tried the bolt thing too, it works initially, but the bolt is not the primary wear item on that axle. Over time the bolt will start to round out the soft cast fiber material of the hub causing it to wobble again. You might be good with the new bolts, but be sure to keep checking because when they start wobbling again, your only choice and fix is to buy the billet hubs.

Where did you buy your billet hubs for $110?

y dont ne of u guys use an impact gun?? thats what i use then put the cotter pin through, them threads wont stip out if thats what u are scared of, i have done this for many years and i dont have problems with my wheels wobbling ne more.

250rider: This is a Durablue X-33 axle we're talking about here, no cotter pins or splines like traditional axles. NJ400EX: I originally said spend the $110 or so. Sorry for the confusion, I bought the hubs a couple years ago and I got an "inside" deal from a nice lady who answered the phone at Durablue. The problem was sort of news to her at the time so she gave me and my friend with the raptor the same deal for around $110. I think they retail for a bit more but not too much. Again sorry for the misinformation. ;)

I'm gonna have to correct myself this time. I just went to Durablue's website and the Billet hubs for the X-33 on the Hondas are priced at $219.95 :eek2: . All I can say is I am glad I got my "inside" deal early. Man, they want an arm and a leg for a pair of hubs over there. I hope you guys can find a set from some place else for a cheaper price. I hope it all works out for ya guys in this situation.

Do they all come with the aluminum hubs on them now. My X-33 has the aluminum one on it. I bought it that way. Plus I bought it used so the guy could have put them on.

I had the same problem with my cast hubs. I broke one, paid for the replacement because Dura-bend said it was my fault because the bolts weren't tight enough. And recently I had to replace both hubs with billet ones because of the wobble. And the wobble this time definetely wasn't from loose bolts! Denton Racing sold me the hubs for $150.00. I still have the X-33 axle but would never recommend their product to any one! Their warranty is non-existent! The least they could do is give the customer a discount on the billet hubs after the fiber ones wore out prematurely!!!!!

True that man, I too still have my X-33 and hasnt bent yet but when it bends, im not goin to claim the warranty because the whole deal sucks. I was not informed at the time and bought it without thinking about the warranty's fine print info. The axle and billet hubs have held up rock solid for now, but when they snap, Im goin for a Dominator or Dominator II to completely end my axle breaking and warranty worries.
