The quality is about the same. But the ROSS piston is lighter.

I have used both but like the Ross because it is lighter and revs faster.

They are both great pistons, but the ross weighs less. You wont go wrong with either of them.

The Ross is literally just a new and improved JE. The designer of the Honda XR400 (and 400EX) piston for JE went to work for Ross and just took his old design and improved upon it. I've spoken with him a few times, real nice guy. If I recall, his name is Jim. Go with the Ross! It's a bit lighter (even more so if you go with the optional, lighter, stronger pin) and improved over the JE (better oil journals, etc....

Ross is lighter = higer revs man. Ross all the way.
