Any input- Hiems VS. Ball joints?

Any opinions on using large Hiems in place of ball joints? I've noticed some companys use 1, some the other. I worry that in my climate (desert-LOTS of dust) that the hiems would get trashed fast. Whos got some input??????

The heim joints do offer slightly better handling on the motocross track. I have ball joints on my 400ex and heims on my YFZ and I noticed the difference. However, the lower heims on my YFZ a-arms have already gone bad. My 400ex has had the same ball joints for a year now and no problems. Ball joints don't handle as well, but they definitely last longer.

I like the ball joints better because the heims can be a pain with dust and dirt.

with upper heims you can adjust the caster. ball joints you can't.

I think you're thinking of the hiems at the a-arm pivot, which has nothing to do with the ball joints. I'm asking about having large heim joints, as opposed to ball joints, at the spindle end of the arm.
