Need 300ex Help

Placed new timing chain on my 300ex and followed the book. Flywheel at TDC and valve cam lobes to the bottom and placed the cam gear at TDC . Went to start up and boom the carb blew off. I Don't Know what to do now or whats wrong?

Almost sounds like your timing is 180 degrees off. Are you positive all the lobes were down when you lined the cam gear tick marks up to the head with the engine at TDC?

went back set it 180 now it won't fire or anything
