well im liking it so far sans the kickstart. it will take a little getting used to....and maybe i need to become a better rider and not stall it so Jeff doesnt ram me:p

this is my first chance to ride more then just a few laps around a feild without the dealership staff watching and chewing thier nails:devil: i like it. power rolls on smooth and the mid range hits good and hard. the tranny shifts flawlessly on the trx ....and thats a big plus to me becuase im not a fan of how the yammy shifts. the yfz is great but the money is in the small details IMO.

suspension is on par with what a stock shock should be(way better then stock shocks we are used to) the quad handles like a 400ex and is really easy to get comfortable on. i look forward to running laps on each quad.

if i was going to ride all mx...YFZ all the way

if it was gncc....its would prolly be close to a tie (need more seat time on the TRX)

if i was a trail rider looking for a total package ....;) ill hold judgement for now:cool:

i got my first ride on the trx this afternoon and i was very impressed. it pulled hard and smooth as everyone else has said. it did have a PBS exhaust, so i don't know what it was like stock. i did noctice that it sits a little high, but not that bad. when it comes time to buy a new quad this summer its going to be a tuff decision. especially if the new suzuki 450 is out by then.

I pick up my 450R on saturday. I'm looking forward to seeing how it stacks up against my YFZ. I ride a lot of MX, so I don't expect it to be my favorite, but we'll see. Anyone in Utah wanting to try either bike out, let me know and I'll hook you up (for a fee of course).

Hey TCRacing did you go to Actiontown last weekend?

TCracin440ex
03-25-2004, 06:58 PM
nah...i didnt go...my friend wanted to go and race...but i was like nah...im 2 hrs away from dilwyn va....so i stayed at home and started my own mx track...to hell with driving an hr (atleast) to a mx track...birch creek is an hr and 16 mins from me...dillwyn is an hr and 30 mins...then lake sugar tree i dunno how far that is but imma guess the range to be about 2 hrs...

its a long little haul...dont like driving that far..esp with the gas prices in va...$1.80 for 87 oct. and 93 is like $1.95 in my areas...

my step dad is a construction worker...we get all the heavy duty equipment we need for free, dozers, loaders, bobcats, track-hoes, back hoes....we get free gravel, and free dirt...his company tells him to help himself to any thing he needs or wants there....

Jerry,

Where you there last weekend? I was, track was its typical rough arse condition, but it was good practice for the National.

Yep, My kids raced there. Did you see a white trailer with a blue ford expedition right at the starting gate? My 400ex was parked there and my son's trx90 and my other son's xr50. That was us.
My oldest finshed 4th in his quad race. my youngest didn't have such a good day sunday. You think it was rough sat. you should have been there sunday. I believe his *** had a magnet in it cause he couldn't keep it off the ground:( .

We were there 2 weeks ago. It is a pretty cool track. I would love to see the pro's hit the triple:D .

TCracin440ex
03-25-2004, 07:15 PM
that tripple in the straight stretch...yea ive seen a kid from the 4strk b class hit it...and cased it....his chin went right into the handle bars..bent the handle bars to shyt....but i gotta say...hes a soldjer tho...he got back on the bike and finished the race

TCracin440ex
03-25-2004, 07:18 PM
he fell off the back....man u gotta be there the 3rd and 4th..that whoop section was punishing the pro classes....pro prod ud think gust n them would hit them...but they rolled over them...surprized me...they are too close together to double them up, and too deep to bounce over the top of them....they should be called the "oh Shyt section" because i think thats what every 1 says when they f**k up not "whoops"

TCracin440ex
03-25-2004, 07:27 PM
needless to say i fugged up on that track...on the table top after u come off the big hill...that day i was there it was groomed like shyt..the take off ramp was messed up...then the landing side was fugged up too....so me and my friend was jumping side by side on that table top...and the lip of the jump being un even threw me to the left, and i hit his bike in mid air....tossed me like 15 ft down the track...i tumbled and rolled like 10-20 times...had a concussion, messed up my back, chipped 6 of my teeth (tongue rings fault), bruised my ribs, my 4 head was swollen 3x the size it was posta be....i was in some painn..and all the doc gave me there was percosets...them kinda drugs that put you up there that makes you feel like marvin the marshin...high as jesus....mark called me like 2 or 3 times that week to see how i was doin...and i aint been back since...this was back in october...october 25th...im proally rusty now...i was posta go back this weekend but i called and they are havin a TT race so no open practice...but im def. goin next weekend.

Do three laps around your own course on the YFZ and have one of the kiddies time you, then do so on the 450R and tell us which one gets faster lap times for ya:D

TCracin440ex
03-25-2004, 07:37 PM
dude of course hes gonna get faster times on his yfz 450 because hes had it longer and has gotten used to the powerbands of the motor...on the other hand....if he had had the 450r the same amount of time he has had the yfz 450...then it would all boil down to the rider more so than the machine....

03-25-2004, 07:44 PM
I'm not telling him to go out and do it yesterday. Obvioussly after he has the 450R for a long enough time to get used to it. I figured he would've known that's what I meant. Not go out and time himself yesterday.

Pappy
03-25-2004, 07:53 PM
the trx is faster on my course. its tight...nerf to tree tight in places. the trx handles like its on rails in the tree's!! it has a better power range for lugging and seems to pull from the bottom very easily. the yfz needs throttle ...but when she breaks lose..look the hell out:D
