Can I get a poll from you guys to on personal preference towards motor oils? I have read all the threads containing MUCH MUCH info on oil and it really gave me a BIG headache. i would much rather a majority rules answer than a long winded discussion on scientific findings.

I run Kenddel 15-50 full syenthitic and it is a excellent oil, i would sugest it over every oil out on the market. I heard from Four stroke tech that kendell and redline for the 400ex are the best oils to run in the machine, it doesn't break down as fast as the regular mineral oil

Where do you buy Kendall Motor Oil at? That`s what Curtis Sparks says to use. He said to always use Kendall Oil with Energy Release. How much does it Cost?

400MXer, where can I get some GT1 40w? Does 40w mean 10w 40 or what? I`m not sure on that. I want a Pure Racing Oil. I need the Oil to be a little thicker so it don`t Break Down so Fast. How do you like it? Is there anything you don`t like? I`m either going to get the GT1 40w, the stuff Sparks says to get, or some kind of Maxima Oil. Thanks Guys.

40w....is a strait 40 wieght oil.
I get it at my local napa parts store...they may have to order it but go the that napa a lot so they have no problem keeping a case in stock for me....sometimes i tell them to order a case and i just buy the entire case from them.

It's good stuff....i doesn't break down like reagular oils...in fact, it's better than the synthetic kendall.
I love the stuff...and what's weird is it's green in color....when i first poured it into my fourwheeler, i had to read the bottle again to make sure it was the right stuff.

i don't like using synthetic oils...i don't think it's better, and it's more expensive. Fischer recommends it too...but i was using it before he told me.

This is what the dealer suggested so I have just continued to run it. I tried the synthetic once on my 250 and it began to smoke real bad on startup. Once I went back to the regular it quit smoking.

Thanks Guys. I think I will go with the Stuff 400MXer runs. For as Good as it Sounds, it`s really Cheap too. Oh 400MXer, will this Oil be good for Year Round Riding? I think that`s all the Questions I have. I`ll have to go to Napa sometime and check it out.

400MXer, one more Thing. How would the Kendall compare to Maxima? I talked to the Guy that works on our Quads and Built my brother`s motor and he told me the Maxima or Kendall would be Good. He said not to run Car Oil. This Kendall is for Motorcycles right? I think that` it. He said he could get the Kendall for me. I`m going to Email Sparks and ask about the Oil.

400MXer is right about the oil. Quite a few of the engine builders I talked to and Tom all said straight 40 weight is the best to run. But Im almost sure he said its not good to run of you ride where its really cold but I see where 400MXer said his friend ran it on a snow covered course so I dont know. Oh and Warriorman, I called TC about that headpipe thing and he will be gone until the 18th. He is at the nationals. Thats what his machine said!!! Ill let you know when I talk to him

Thanks Guys. I think I will be going with the Kendall GT1 Strait 40 Weight. I don`t Ride in the Cold much. The 400 is just to much of a Pain to get Started. I forgot about the Nationals. I can`t wait for Red Bud. When you find out just tell me. Thanks.

Not for cold weather huh? my friend might be ruining his motor then. I don't ride in the winter either. and if i do, it's indoor tracks.

Warriorman....guess what...............My motor was supposed to be here two monday's ago, and last friday my buddy called him and he said that my motor was in a box ready to go and that i'd have it by monday....well it's wends. and i called him this afternoon, and a lady picked up and i asked where my motor was....then i told her my name...and she said....Oh, we got some part for you today!!!!. then Bud got on the phone, and said it's boxed up ready to go and i'll have it on friday. I'll believe it when i see it.

Mobil 1 15w50. Never had my clutch slip, and seems to rev faster. Starts much better, and warms up faster too.

Your oil is the reason it warms up faster? that's pry not a good thing. and your oil makes it rev faster?

I am going with Kendall.

I know what your going through with your Motor. TC was the same way with My Brother. He kept saying he was Shipping it, and then My Dad called and TC said he needed to Polish it still. You will get it some time. Let`s Hope.

There is absolutly nothing wrong with that. Why do you warm up your quad? To get the oil flowing to all parts of the motor. If the oil reaches its operating temp faster, that is good, as long as it doesnt break down fast. Revving faster from an oil? less friction= faster movement! I'm not the only one that noticed that.

OK, we don`t need to Fight. If everybody wanted the Best Oil we would all be Running Klotz.

Woops, sorry if I sounded mean there, I didnt at all. Yes, if I had more money, I probably would run klotz too... right after sticking a 13:1 416 piston in and running that sucker on sweet smelling race gas!

Klotz is what My Brother runs in his 250R. $10 a Quart for his Oil and $30 for 5 Gallons of Race Gas. Man his Smells Sweet.

I run castol actevo 20w50. I was in Chapparel one day getting oil and i ran into a few guys in there that run long distance desert races and they told me that when it came to oil this is what they use and have never had a problem with blowing up/ burning oil or and type of gumming up. so i figured that i'd try it and they were right i've never had any kind of problems with it either.[also it's cheap at 11$ per gallon]
