Hi Guys...I have a 400ex. I have an E-series slip on, K$N Filter, 14t Renthal front sprocket...Removed Choke. Looking for my next performance mod...Not quite ready to rip into the motor yet...Maybe Carb?? Ingintion?? any Ideas...I have about 300$ to spend.

$300 hundred isnt gonna get you far, but what i would do in your case is get a head pipe for your slip on, $200 and a sparks timing key $20, and save the rest for later...you are going to want a full pipe for motor mods....or if that member still has the carb for $300 in the for sale forum and sparks full pipe i would get one of those with the money.

the headpipe won't make much difference. i hear the fcr39's work great even on a stock motor. it will be tough to find one for $300 though. you should be able to find a used one for around there or a little higher without too much problem. i just found one for that price but i haven't received it yet. i would jet your carb now though for the pipe.

good luck finding the fcr carb. I have been looking for a while now and can't fine one for $300. I do agree that should be your next upgrade though. C&D sell them for $420 with the cable. Keep looking for one, but save up in case you have to buy a new one.
