Well i just put my order in for my yfz. i have douglas red labels for a honda front and back. I have an uncle that owns a machine shop. would it work to have him redrill my rims to a yamaha pattern. then they could switch back and forth between my Z and my 450?

Yeah it would probably work if you had the room on the rim, but they won't be as strong.

i dont think it would weaken them enuff to even make a difference.

also, i have seen many wheels w/ a dual bolt pattern if that makes you feel any better about it

because then when you trade quads, you have to buy more wheels... more wheels you buy, the more $$$ they make..;)

I'll agree with that:(

And make sure the valve stem isn't in the way.

Parts that are left out cost nothing, and cause no customer relations problems.

ReDrilling isn't a problem.

Douglas front wheels for a honda will not fit the YFZ.
The center hole is too small, and will not fit over the hub.
If your uncle is a good machinist, he could probably make the center hole bigger.
The rears should work fine.

Edit

Let me say that the douglas wheels I bought, would not fit. I didn't even think to measure the center hole until I had already drilled the wheel bolt holes.

So measure first.

I have a set of rims with like 4 bolt patterns in em...granted, they are steel, but they aren't weak at all.
