limited mass?

Hi whats the big difference in the pep limited mass shocks over the normal peps? how would the limited mass shocks preform compaired to a set of TCS shocks.

are there any advantages that one set of shocks have over the other (limited mass/TCS)? thanks

The only diffrence i know of between the races series and the limited mass shocks are the limited mass are compression and preload adjustable. And the race race series is only preload adjustable. There may be some other diffrences to but i'm no shock expert.

Will the limited mass shocks make the front and the rear sit lower than stock?

It wont set any lower if you have the sag set right.

You can but the shock works better when you set the sag right.
When i first put it on after i got it back from baldwin i had about 5 and a 1/2 6inches of sag somewhere around there. After i set the sag to 3 1/8 the quad rode a lot better and and seemed to take corners just as well as before.

so why normal peps so much better than pep limited mass shocks?

or is there no real advantage?

the limited mass are suposed to be better than the standard peps. Why I don't really know its just what i have always had. Since i got them off another quad i owned. I think they work pretty damn good since i got them revalved for me too. But these are the only shocks i have had and cant compare them to anything else.

well limited mass are the mid grade with ZPS being the top dogs. They can act close to a ZPS shock if you turn down the compression and preload a bit. They are more than good enough for most weekend warriors cause there isnt too much adjusmtent to screw yaself up!:p

The PEP std. race shocks are 1/2 inch shaft where as the limited mass are 5/8. Other then that all other difference have been mentioned.

I bought a set of LM's (used) and they have 1/2 shafts:confused:

They have "PEP Limited Mass" engraved near the top .

The limited mass shocks used to come with 1/2 inch shafts now there 5/8. Mine had the 1/2 inch shafts and when i sent them to baldwin last summer to revalve them he went ahead and updated them with the 5/8 shafts.
