ok heres the deal, went down to my dealership, picked up a CR kill switch and wired it to my quad for a start button, works good, starts the bike. well when i took the stock assembly apart, the light switch fell off, and now when ever i hit the button it blows the fuse. how can i stop this? and what do i do with the stock kill switch? do i just cut the wires and cap them? or do i need to rewire it to compete the circuit?

You need to take your CR button off and wrap your handlebar with elctrical tape. Then put the CR button back on over the tape. What is happening is your new start button is grounding out on the handlebars, thus blowing fuses. If you look at the button carefully and look how it works you will see what I am talking about it grounding out. I know this because the same thing happend to me.

Hmm, when I wired in my cr250 kill switch/starter, I did not encounter this problem. I'll have to take a look at that too I guess.:o

The CR style kill button is the only one like this. That is how it kills the dirtbike, when you push the button it grounds the engine out.

don't some use a yz button, that one odesn't ground to the bar. I would think that would solve the problem
