Handguards on stock handlebars?

Are the inserts in the end of stock 450R handlebars removeable so I can install the parts to hold aftermarket handguards? Or do I have to get new bolts and bolt the handguards on using the stock bar end holes? Thanks.


Also, thanks to everyone for the great info on this site. I bought a 450R 2 weeks before the Georgia GNCC and raced there and in NC. I placed 21st in GA and 25th in NC in the 4 Stroke C 25-32 age group. I've never raced an atv before those two races. I would have been lost if not for the advice and info I've found here. I put the Acerbis ones that hook to the bars on my stock bars. The inserts are a part of the bar and not removable. I had to drill deeper into the bar and tap the hole for the bigger bolt that comes with the hand gaurds. They fit better than when I had them on aftermarket bars.
