stupid dealer????????

The other day i went to my honda dealer and one old guy there told me that if i change my piston to the 11:1 wiseco std. bore i already bought and am about to install with a stage 1 hot cam that i would have no reliability anymore. Is this true or is he just a old guy that doesn't know what he is talking about. please help because i am really close to installing my piston and cam.

Anytime you modify the engine you lose some reliability.

Yeh i know atvmxrider. this was the only thing that held me back from gettin engine mods. :grr:

well my dealer installed my cam and piston and i still have 3 years warranty left and before you say it they do still honor the warranty.so i guess it will not be that unreliable

you should have plenty of reliability with that piston and cam. i talk to people who have ran their 416's for years. i haven't had any problems with my 406 either.

Engine reliability is still there as long as:

1. The motor is not bored to the hilt.
2. The only changes in stroke are minor.
3. Compression is within reason. 11:1 is within reason.
4. Maintenance is performed periodically.
5. The thumb knows when to LET OUT OF IT!
