I was wondering what gearing everyone recommends for my quad. It has:
18" turf tamers
JE 416 kit
biggun full exhaust
uni air filter
Im looking to set it up for mx riding so looking for some more bottom end. I bought the quad used and it currently has 14 on the front sprocket and 39 on the rear. The quad just feels like it is missing something on bottom end, it revs out real quick. If anyone has any suggestions i would appreciate it
Thanks

18 inch tires? Id leave it.

I have 20 inch tires and run a 14 tooth in the front. It pulls great through the trails.

I think your going through the gears to fast because there is to much bottom end.

Try 20 inch tires.

Sorry for the double post.

Maybe its a clutch problem? My 416 revs out fast also but it gets every bit of it to the ground with arm wrenching power.

Thanks for the info, I got some 20" tires so ill try them out and see if it helps. Also do you have any head work or an aftermarket cam? I was also wondering since i didnt put an aftermarkt cam and some head work maybe im not getting all the power and thats why its revin out so quick?
Thanks for your help

go bigger on the front sprocket!Try 16tooth with the 18inch tires. 15 tooth for 20's if you choose-darren

i don't see how you don't have enough bottom end power. yes, a cam would make a nice difference. my friend put in a stage 1 hotcam and he had nice power increases across the board. how are you jetted?

I have a 42 pilot with 175 main jet

i would go down to a 160 or so on the mainjet. see if that helps out on power.
