Hey guys..I just picked this truck up over the weekend..Its a lowered '97 dodge dakota..I will be putting my Wings West body kit on it as soon as I get it painted. The pictures arent the greatest but they should speak for themselves.I'll try to get some better pictures later this week. Tell me what ya think.

*Update* I deleted the old pictures and added some new ones.

looks good, but needs to be lower, dont do the body kit, leave those to the ricers. just lower it instead of adding stuff to make it look low.

Hey,thanks for the reply..The body kit was thrown in for free on the deal..so I figure I might as well install it because I dont want to hassle with lowering it any more..I really wish i had enough money to get some bags installed.

how did they lower it? also you could sale the kit and add it to bags or something.

You could do a body lower, actually lowers the body, not the suspension. I thinks it looks good right there though. I got a 89 s10 lowered 6 inches. It rides like a dream.......yeah right!

Yeah, that's it. It's a pain, but probably the best way to do it unless you get all new suspension.

Thanks for all the replies..I am thinking about getting some bigger rims once I get the truck paid off and selling the ones on it off on ebay. The guy before me did the lowering on it..he put all new urethane bushings. New ball joints, rack & pinion, tie rods, and carrier bearing. Its actually dropped 3 1/2 and 5. I drove it home from where we picked it up( around 300 miles) and it drove like a dream..it actually rides alot better than my old 94 dakota until you hit a bump and then its a little rough but nothing bad. Im glad he actually did the lowering right instead of just cutting or heating the springs like everyone does around here.

lowered trucks=gay IMO

Got nads?

The only way you can go lower without adiing bags, is to install dropped control arms in front, and possibly de-arch the leaf springs in th back with biiger blocks. Installing air bags on a dakota can be a nightmare! A body drop in an expensive and time consuming option!

250exStud- Its kinda funny that you said "Lowriders are for guys who cant get it up" because there is a lifted truck here in town that has that on it..So my friend put hydrolics on his old s10 and put "The lowrider that can get it up" on the back window:)

Personally I never really thought I would own a lowrider..I always thought they were kinda dumb because I always saw the ones around here that had basically no suspension left and rode like crap. But this one has really changed my opinion on them.Keep the replies coming.

i think the truck looks great the way it is. i would sell the body kit and use the extra cash on something else like system if it doesn't have one or you want better, or even if you want some gas money or even more money to help pay it off. thats what i would do.

I like all trucks!! Doesn't matter if they're lowered or lifted. I truly think people clown low riders because they're afraid people will clown them for liking them. I wish people would quit being punks and admit that a truck looks good, when a truck looks good!!!!!!!!!!!!!! No matter how it looks good!!!!!

do what i did, throw a good set of air bags from air ride! they ride great, and you can lift up when you want, or drop her to the ground when you need to show a little status quoe.

I do not understand why you would lower a 4x4 unless that is a 2x4? The way i see it lower 2wd and higher 4wd:macho :D

I am sure that is a 2wd. On a side note, not a big fan of lowriders but yours looks good. Don't go any lower (or a body kit) it will not make it look any better or anything, all it will make you do is look stupid. Save your money and get a nice system in there or perhaps even a hood might look cool. Lambo doors maybe?

Kicker696- If you dont mind me asking, how much did the complete bag kit cost including install? Theres a guy here in town that said he would install a bag kit for a friend and I know he would do it for me too.If you dont want to put the price on here just send me a PM. Thanks

Thanks for all the ideas. I already have two 12" kicker solobarics with a 2400 watt concept amp. The guy also threw in 3 sets of blue neons but I am just selling those off for a little cash. I was only considering the body kit since it was already thrown in for free and all I would have to do is get it painted but I think it looks good the way it is. So the body kit may get thrown on ebay and I might save the money for a bag kit.I might also look into a different hood if I have some spare cash once I get it paid off.
