Which is better the yfz426 motor or the crf450 motor in a 400ex chassis. Or are the motors beter in a 250r chassis. I want to build a quad with my son so he can start racing. But i want to build the bike this next year so im not in a hurry i want to do it right. Psot some pics i seen and looked for bikes but whats beter the crf or yfz motor in a 400 or 250 chassis. Post i need some input.
Thanks for all your help

It would be a lot easier and more than likely a lot cheaper in the long run to just buy a YFZ 450 or a TRX 450 and go from there. If you wan to build a racer, you can just buy parts and go from there as well as sell off a lot of the stock parts. I have built a YZ426 quad in a LSR frame and it is just easier to start with a stock quad and go from there.

Good luck,
Scott

the 400ex frame will not hold up to those motors for very long.

the 400ex frame will hold up good. it will hold up good if you put the braces on it. and the frame should never breck.

i like your idea though

the best (cheapest) way to go would be a ARENS 400ex geometry frame... 1200$

if it were me and money wasn't a issuse or time... i'd order myself a narrow 500 linkage walsh frame...
