Thats an all original 69' that never sees the road, I am partial to the 87' stang, but it is a daily driver.

I am not real sure! Believe it or not, I was in the throttle on flat ground passing a 4x4 when it happened. I had just got done climbing some hills, thank god it didn't happen then.

I plan on replacing it with an LSR this time!

Thats just it, I have no clue or real explanation! It would be different if I had hit a big tree or something.

That sucks.:(

Did you have any bad landings or hit something recently? I'm wondering if is was damaged at an earlier time and just now broke off.

I'm not saying Durablue is good or bad but I have a hard time beliving that it suddenly broke just riding along.

Sure it has had a few bad landings on it, isn't that why we buy aftermarket stuff. I don't believe anything has happened to it to give it reason to break like this though. I expected it to take much more abuse than I have given it!

don't they have some kind of warranty for life? that it won't ever bend or they will restraiten it if it does.. i forget

I agree, aftermarket parts should be able to handle more abuse than stock parts. I wasn't flaming you or anything, I just wanted to know if maybe the axle was weakened from a previous incident and finally broke completely at an odd time.:)

I chose Lonestar over Durablue just because of the warranty;)

I didn't take it as flaming, I was just a little aggravated. I would also guess it was cracked in the past, but I adjust it for different flat track set ups often and never noticed a crack of any kind.

Thanks for the web address....basically they told me I have a nice new chrome boat anchor!...lol

Sorry about your break man. How do you get those pictures in your messages? I have a million pics of my 440 rebuild and I have had many opportunities when they would have been benificial.

i broke a dura blue a few years ago on my 310 r and i sent them the old one and they sent me a shiny new one but it was an x33 dont know if the lower priced ones are the same or not as far as replacing them and like joex said i cant see it just falling apart had to have a hiarline crack or something

It's all good here;) Good thing you like to fish:p

I'm still amazed at how many broken axles are heard of from Durablue, I guess they must sell a ton of axles compared to LSR and RPM. The more units sold the more you hear about failures.
Then there's the warranty......

I have a slightly bent stock 400ex axle i'll sell you:p

from the pics it looks like there was a air pit in the metal. thats just poor quality. that thing was just waiting to break since it was made.

if you can get the money saved up I think RPM makes one for like 450....haven't heard anything but good about them

I am going to take some better pics and send them to them to see if I can get them to do anything about it. We will see what happens in the next few days.
