With the inconstistant sound testing going on in the GNCC series.

I am just curious to see what every one has tested at.

Here's mine.

YFZ450 w/ HMF slip-on
Texas =102db
N.C. =105db

What a joke!
Test's need to be taken -
1) Away from walls (rock wall 15' to the right)
2) Away from other quads running so close

Complying w/ the db's limits is not a problem, Having Consistent Testing, Done Correctly is my issue!

It really doesn't matter how inconsistant the testing is. They are not inforcing it so who cares.

True, but they did not enforce kill switch teather cords either. Look how many morning racers where scurring around hooking up kill switches.

YFZ450's with Alba full exhaust

TX: 102db
FL: 103db
GA: N/A
NC: 113 &

Both Traci and I were told that the exhaust rules will be enforced by Loretta Lynn's.

The guy holding the meter did vary a lot from side to side and top to bottom of the muffler between riders. 1 test he was directly behind the muffler inline with the outlet and 2 others he was holding it about a foot to the right of the outlet - I am not sure if there is a difference for not but I cannot see how our exhaust gain 10 db's like it did..

Racer productions need to get better meters or do something about this, if they plan to enforce this rule they will proply send half the people home at Lorreta's & I dont see that happening because to many $$$$ will be for them.

why do they even test if they are NEVER accurate anyhow???!!:huh :mad: I heard a girl tell me that a kid on a TRX90 tested a 130:eek2: at a track in Washinton. No way...:rolleyes: We put off running Wash. since they are stickly enforcing DB levels, I didnt want to drive 12 hours to be snet home......:( Trinity told us ours was around 105 ,but our luck it would test even higher:rolleyes: .. is it true that 101 DB is 10 times louder than 100 DB? I belive i heard that somewhere
same as 95 DB is 10 times louder than 94 DB
can someone back this up?

and also.. what DB do you have to be under to ride?:confused:

SSRedRider

104 db is the max, but they are not enforcing it yet.

hey gncc35,im noticing that you guys with the red backgrounds have different testing methods than we do.heck they hold mine on the rev limiter.down at texas,binkley tested 3 more decibels more than me,they told me to get mine repacked and didnt say crap to him.this is all just one big conspiracy to free manson from jail,im sure of it.

Tx. 102
FL. 102
GA n/a

I noticed a big difference in rpm and throthle setting from Tx to NC. THey had some type of rpm reader that they put on my side case.

As for get good reading, The following will effect sound: Air temp., what elevation the race is at, humidity, and wether the sky is overcast or clear. I know air temp effect soound becauce I work at power plant. ON cold night our p/a system eoch acoss campus easly.
