Cool, but you have to take it off when you go to drain the oil tank. I would cut like a 2" hole in the bottom under that drain bolt..

aluminum is what all of the aftermarket skids are made out of.it is light and strong plus it will NEVER rust. why would you hope this isn't true?????

Looks good, only things I'd suggest are to recess the bolt holes. The exposed bolt heads may get sheared off. And round off the sharp corners, they won't catch on stuff as easy. You might want to use pan head allen bolts for mounting. Good job! ;)

yea i do have to drill a hole to drain the oil and yes it's made of aluminum. i am going to get some flathead allen screws. i just whipped it up cus i did some rocky riding today and i needed something the protect my frame. hell, it works:)

I suggest that you use some s.s. allen head cap screws or what I did was countersink and use some flat heads which makes them flush. Another thing would to have gone a little longer in the front and wrap it up over the front tube so it won't get snagged. I will have to get a shot of the one I made for my son's. I also drilled holes for drainage, but what you did will get the job done and your next one will be even better. I am going to fab one up for the 300 next.
