Well the riding trip today left my 400ex a-arms a little trashed,

Question is, can I run my 300ex a-arms with my works shocks? What can I expect handling wise from the 300ex a-arms and works, horrible ride? This will be for the most 2 weeks, and 1 hare scramble race.

PS, anybody got upper right and lower right 400ex a-arms for sale shoot me a PM.

I would think it would be horrible. I think the 400 a-arms and shocks are hard enough to ride on with all the bump steer. I couldn't imagine the 400 shocks on stock 300 a-arms. I don't think i would even try it. If it did fit somehow, I would think the handling would be terrible.

Incase someone is confused, I have a 2000 300ex with 400ex a-arms and works triple rate shocks for a stock 400ex. I've made the upper mount to run these shocks. I know about the bumpsteer but can't afford aftermarket 300ex a-arms, and 400ex a-arms are cheap. I've rode on these for about a year and a half. I'm wondering if I can put the 300ex a-arms back on and run the works.

That's all I can say. Those shocks with 300 arms (-4") from where you were at will probably beat you to death. Assuming the shocks were valved for the 400 arms in the first place.

Actually yes you can run 300ex a arms. I am running aftermarket 300ex a arms with the shockmount bracket and 400ex length Elka's. Mine are awesome. Yours might be a little stiff though. Are your Works valved for a stock 400ex?

Do they sell different shocks for 300ex/400ex or the same model number. If different, they are probably a different length shock. That is my guess on this situation.

They are completely different shocks. The 400ex length shocks used for the conversion have to be valved differently to be used with 300ex aftermarket arms. I had to fill out a build sheet for Elka to custom build them.

The works are valved for 180# rider on stock 400ex a-arms. This is a last resort if I can't get new a-arms before my race.
