my 400ex is getting spark and fuel. but it wont start

could i have possibly put the cam in the wrong postion maybe 180 out?
what i mean is how do you find the correct piston position once the cam has been in wrong?
is there a clear way to know if the cam is out of position?

you don't have to worry about it being 180 out by how it fires. however, it is much easier to put the cam in with the lobes facing down when the T mark on the flywheel is lined up. make sure your timing is right. also, make sure your jetting is good. are you running an aftermarket ignition box? i would also get a new spark plug.

If you put the cam in 180 out it would have a bent valve by now the valves would be full open at top dead center. check your valve setting.:)
