soop the 300 or sell?

Well i was wondering what i should do. I have a 2001 honda 300ex with LRD full exhaust, jets, 400ex race plastics and seat, shock covers, 14 tooth front sprocket, 18 in maxxis in rear, holeshot mx in front, jagg oil cooler, wheel spacers, pro taper bars ac bumper etc. And i dont know what to do. I like it but the suspention and power lacks. My friend on a 400ex always laughs at it and says look how small it is hahaha. And when i drag with him i get the lower end advantage but when i'm topped out he blows rite by me. So i'm going to race this year and i dont know whether to bore it and get custom axis after a while. Or just wait and sell it but usually no one buys sooped up quad any way. Is anyone going threw what i'm going threw? Please help. phisically how much bigger is the 400ex?

well i am buying a used 300ex by summer and i will not buy anthing with the engine worked.. I do not want to buy something with the engine worked because people say you can inherrit someone else problems. the most worked i would go is pipe, filter , and jet kit. it sounds like it is a sweet bike, i would try selling it and see if anyones interested. If not, you can do what you want to it.:blah

Yea, thats the best idea, sell it & get a 400. Im sick of my slow 300 too so Im just going to keep it & only ride the river with it & then buy me a shee to that i only drag race with since 2 strokes arent allowed on the river where i mostly ride at.

I have a 2000 300ex, and yesterday i was riding my friends 400ex for awhile, and after i got off, i realized that i needed to sell my 300ex and buy a 400. So thats what im gonna do, im not gonna put nemore more money into, except for oil and **** like that. I cant wait to have a 400ex,

i like the feel of the 300 better than the 400. the only way i will sell is if honda come out w/ a 650ex or something like that.

Physically, the 300 isn't much smaller than the 400. It is some, but not much. The 400 is a little taller and and little longer than the 300, but not much! If you would bore it to 330 or bigger, you should blow your friend away!! ;):)

sell it and get a 250r or 400ex.
there cool bikes but are outgrown quickly.
dont spend anymore money on it. im kicking myself in the *** because i could of got a 250r for $3,000 in good cond., and i should of got a 400ex at the dealer insted of my 300ex:mad:

I don't really care for the 400's ergonomics. To tell you the truth they are not that much faster stock in my opinion. The only thing i will eventually sell my 300ex for is a 250R or even a cannondale if $$$ permits...that is assuming that honda won't come out with a new quad in the next couple years. If you sell the 300ex will you have enough money to put some afterket parts on a 400? I'd take my 300ex modded over a stock 400.

The only used bikes I will buy are stock or Near stock , no motor work , origional tires , bars stuff like that , no pipe or anything.
The only thing that was done to my 400 when i got it was skids.
Later this week or next week I'm getting renthals , an Ac bumper , a new clutch perch and blockoff.

I agree with PDunes. They're fun bikes.( some people are gonna call me dumb, but i wouldnt sell mine for a 400EX.)Im waitin to see how the 400z zuki is, and I might get that in a couple of years.Id sell if i had too, but I dont think selling mine for a stock 400EX would be fun.And the no reverse part would suck.

(personally, I hate it when people brag about they can beat you.So far, no one at my school can, lol :) :devil :macho .)

About the stuff to do to your 300EX .
Engine:
Get a good cam, bore it,maybe even a 330 kit.
Suspension:
Some wider front A-arms
Good shocks
A longer swingarm /w a good ,wider axle.
(if you want to make it faster, id put some 20 in. tires , or bigger on the back.) I have a extra set of 18in. turf tamers, and they arent that great for speed.Id say get some bigger ones, and keep the 14 th front gear.
