I just bought a brand new 03 250ex. And was wondering how to make it faster. I was thinking maybe about adding pipes, intake, or some other kind of engine enhancements. I sometimes ride tight wood trials but often ride on open fields. Im not looking for a major overhaul of the quad but would be willing to put some money into it. Any help would be much appreciated.

Buy a better exhaust, jet kit, and air filter. That's the basic mods. Good hp boost too!;)

Get a set of 20" tires for the rear. Better handling and acceleration without losing much top end.
You can also cut the end off the snorkle but you'll have to re-jet.

Hope this helps,

from experience with the 229cc engine, id suggest these mods:
-supertrapp ids2 complete system($189)
-k&n filter w/outwear's($50)
-dynojet ket kit($35)
-cut the end of the snorkle off so its not just that small hole the size of a quarter.
-and maybe run it with the lid off if you live in dry conditions.
youll see a big gain in low end and mid range power, and some on top end too. youll be limited for top end though, since its shaft drive. but itll definitly give it more grunt with about a 3-6 hp increase.

Take my word with this, dont buy any mods yet, go bore it out with a Big Bore kit, i have the webby around here somewhere. Once u put a big bore kit in that ex, it will wake it up large !

I put the stock Ohtsu radials off my 400ex on ours. You can probably get a used set here pretty cheap.

Pipe (White Brothers E-Series)
Air Filter (K&N or UNI)
Jet kit (K&N)
Tires (Razor 20" rear and Razor 21" front)
Handle Bars (Moose or Tusk)
Grips (Oury)
Handguards (Maier Pro XC Handguards)

thats about it

if you go with a bore kit you will need a pipe a jet kit, or a new carb so that the engine runs better. Not doin this could hurt the engine.
Syrus i really sugest u get tha pipe an jet kit.:huh
