View Full Version : How hard is it really to install HRC kit?

How long does it take & is it really Easy or a little complicated,Im a machanic & have slip cases & worked on motor cycle engines before.It think I should be able to do it without a prop. but just want a heads up.

Not too tough at all :) This is the first bike that I have seen with the cam in a housing ( or I think it is called a cam cartridge) pretty neat.

just be prepared for locktite and lots of it. and figure some time too. not an hour job.

If you can align a couple marks for the cam timeing it is easy. Just takes a couple of hours at most if you know what you are doing or a little longer if you haven't been into this kind of stuff before. You shouldn't need to adjust the valves but make sure and check them just in case.

What all does the HRC kit contain ? maybe a dumb question but im not to sure what all it gives you.

cam, air box lid with mug guard, muffler end cap, main jet, jet needle, breather T, manual, and air box snorkle. I think that's about it.

When you say manual, do you mean the service manual comes with it? Also, Does anyone have an idea on how much power the kit gives you. Is it REALLY noticable on the Butt-O-Meter.:cool: Thanks

Yes it is noticeable power increase. By manual I mean the HRC kit manual. NOT the service manual.
