I got an offer from someone that wanted to trade my 2000 MXZ-x 440 (race) for a 92 lt250 with new rims and fmf pipe. He wants a straight up trade. Im looking to get $3500 for my sled, does that lt250 sound like a decent deal or should i ask for some cash with it ?

How much do those LT250 go for these days anyhow ?

usually the ones in good condition go for no more then $2500. unless its all pimped out then they go a little higher.

i wouldnt trade a MXZ-440 race sled for a 92 LT...i have both...i have a 2001 MXZ 600..and a 89 LT which is basically still the same thing as an 92...u can pick up a good condition LT for around 2100$ or even 1800$...dont trade your MXZ for it...you will get ripped off

Have him give you $750 plus the quad as long as the LT is in really nice condition. They go for $2-$3K around here.

I'm not kiddin... $2600 max for a modded LT is BS. You can expect to pay $2500-3k for one in good shape, many of the ones for sale are not in good shape and go for $1-2k. ;)

i dont see how a highly modded LT could only sell for 2600 MAX when a honda could be the same thing...and sell for around 5,000$...yah they have better handling but they dont have the motor that the LT's have...maybe i am just crazy but i dont see it

stock for stock motor yea LTs take it, but u get an ESR PV 265 motor and it will walk all over an LT like its nothing.

But you're talking about a PV 265 versus a stock LT, it should take it. I think my LRD LT would give it a good run for it's money, even though it's only bored .040 over. ;) Power valve came stock... :p

No i was talking about Canadian money, since im in Ontario and the guy who wants to trade me the LT is in ontario also. So what do LT's go for in Canada ? I dont remember the price difference :/

I'm not sure what the exchange rate is. Prices are really area-specific, so what may be way too much in some parts of the country is a bargain in others. If you have Cycle Trader or something like it pick up an issue and see what LT's and sleds like yours are going for.
You can also try www.kbb.com to get blue book prices but I don't think it's area specific with quads like it is with cars.
