no it isn't a stupid idea if you do it correctly!

and do a search there are many post on this...i would not reccomend it though....for all the money you spend on an aftermarket 400ex front end, just buy a aftermarket 300ex....

here is mine....400ex spindles, 400ex +2+1 a-arms, 400ex tie-rods, custom length TCS shocks (14.75") for the conversion...

i am however going to agree with everyone else and buy a 300ex front end...although this is pretty nice, you are risking breaking a ball joint...

but yea i really like them..best tires i have ran since i've been riding...hook up awesome and dont wear down very fast at all
