Black soot in airboot??

Today i was cleanin my air filter and i looked in my airboot and there was a ton of black soot in my airboot. What is this? and is it supposed to be there? Is it jetting? Ive cleaned my air filter about every 4 to 5 rides, and this is the first time ive seen it. :confused:

Have you been riding any different places than usual that are very dusty or muddy?

Have you tried changing the jetting?

what air boot is it in? the one that connects the filter to carb or the one that connects the carb to the head?

i have a feeling its not from you jetting. i would think either you have a crack/hole in your boot or your filter is passing small substances through.

oil from your filter + dirt= crap that looks like soot. clean the air boot and filter and ride it for awhile and see if that fixes it
