Why is it that every time i land a decent size jump, it kills my wrists? I'm not locking them or anything, and i try to stay loose but keep control. What am I doing wrong?

My guess would be that your leaning too far forward and putting too much of your weight on the bars.

what kind of jumps are you hitting? I have stock suspension and if you hit doubles or whatever right it should be a pretty smooth landing.

bush,
try doing wrist curls with weights in three directions, flexion, extension, inversion. inversion is arm on pad with thumb in up position. use a weight that about 15 to 20 reps is tuff to do. also strengthening your arms and shoulders will help along with your landing style. hope this helps.

The jump thats been hurting the most is a step up thats probably about 30 feet from jump to landing...its a flat landing which probably doesnt help, and i hit it in low to mid 5th. I'm landing on the back tires, so i guess its just the fact that its a flat landing that is making it so bad.

wait, 30ft for 5th gear? Unless it's a huge step up, 30ft should be about 4th. I wouldn't ever want to do a flat lander in 5th gear. Are you getting tossed way up and above the landing? if it's a step-up you wanna try to barely make it up the jump. Smoothness is definitely the key, does everyone else land hard too. If so build a new jump, if not... keep practicing and you just gotta work on the distance
