Having a problem on my daughter 250EX.
It idles, but when you hit the gas it will die. I'm thinking that either the idle is low, or the carb is a bit dirty. If you give it a bit of gas when starting it, then shift into 1st, it is ok, but if you start it, let off of the gas, then back on, it dies.
Any ideas?

you might have a low idle. either that, or you need to let it warm up a bit.
sometimes, when i'm having trouble getting my 250 to idle, i hold the gas in a little, push in the e-start and hold the rpms steady for a good minute or so.
does it do the same in ON and the RES?
mess around with the idle, and you might want to clean out the carb.

It happens when it is hot or cold. I'll try to adjust the idle 1st. I'll be tearing the bikes down after our next trip. Clean the carb then.
Didn't try it with RES. might look at that also.
Thanks
