4-stroke tecate4? can it be done?

I want to turn my tecate into a 4 stroker. will a 400ex engine fit?

idk if it will fit directly but there most likely will be some welding,grinding,cutting involved

Or put the Tecate motor in a 400ex frame... JMO

yeah, the tecates' chassis is what holds it back, put that motot in a 400ex frame, it would be badazz if you could rig the tecate plastic to it

I talked to some guys at an east coast custon shop.they have a kit for putting an XR600 engine in a 400ex they claim it to be the ultimate trail machine. I thought why not a kawasaki? I bought this tecate rolling chassis with plans to install a 300 lakota engine but the auto clutch turned me off! the 400ex has a lot of performance upgrades. Maybe I can pull it off. I'm just tired of 2 strokes. I've always had one,I'm ready to try something copletely different. Besides if I did use a kawy 4stroke I would be one up on the guys riding the suzuki in kawy colors!

he got a point there bro....idk it up to you if you seriously want to try and tackle this project i say go for it...you will have one of the trickest rides and that is what you want im sure....and plus will be a nice chickmagnet to...lol

well the trick ride is what I'm after, In a few months every swinging @1ck out there will be riding a 450r, what is the fun of having a toy that anybody can get? Its like the kids who spin their tires at a stop sign in a stock neon! losers!! If your going to be a show off make sure its worth showing off.Don't get me wrong, some people don't have the ability and resources for a project like this. that is very understandable. As for the chick magnet??? I'm married, my wife rides, she's a professional welder and she's HOT!!(cool huh!!) But hey, thanks for the support on my project.

I just bought a KLR 600 engine for this tecate!
when the puzzle is completed it should be VERY COOL!!!

I just sold the KLR600 engine, There is no f-n way it will fit. 2-stroke it is!:grr:

i'm not sure if you're aware of this or not, but it might be interesting... kawasaki, and a few other people i'm sure... put an ex500 engine in a mojave frame. it was a tight fit and a tad heavy but not outrageously so. not sure if it'll fit into a tecate frame but it might be worth a look see. sounds like you and your wife are more than capable of doing a little fab. work. and feel free to post some pics of your wife :D
