i have a quick question please help me out if u can
i have a 400 ex with some mods anyway i like doing wheelies alot if i stand the bike straight up it starts leaking fuel out the carb overflow i think and it starts breaking up when i put the wheelie back down it wont run right for about 3-5 seconds like its out of fuel... what could this bee

let me guess, your bike is a 99 or 00? if so, they made an update on the carb in 2001 that is suppose to prevent this from happening. i would have the dealer look it up on the computer and tell you exactly what part it is. i think it is the pin that holds the float in place. however, i am not 100% sure. my friend had the same problem. he had the dealer put in the newer part and the problem no longer exists.

yup its a 2000 you dont happen to know the part number do u?

every quad does it, it empties out the float bowl so it doesnt flood the motor.

i have no clue what the part number is. my friend didn't even pay attention to what they did. if it was me i would have probably put in the part myself. now, if you stand the bike straight up, it may not run right for a sec or two. do you have stumbling problems when riding wheelies or up steep hills? if not, i think your experiencing what a normal carb does.

i agree with 250rider, the extra fuel is gonna come out of your carb bowl drain hose

thanks for the info i know that some fuel will leak out and that is normal however it never really felt like it wanted to stall when i put it back down on all fours until last weekend thats why i was wondering

i have a 99 400Ex...it has the same problem...i talked to a dealer about it he said its the floats and pins and one other thing i can't remeber O_o
