I'm ready for some new shocks. I bought mine in 2001. Has anyone done any upgrading to the setup? Checking out the a-arms I think they're in bad shape. Whats up with those bushings? They aren't listed on the microfiche.

Looks good to me. What about the rear shock? Will that be a problem with longer travel in the front and the junk stocker on the rear.

for what.....if ur talking about shocks then get some elkas butif ur talking about a-arms then ur screwed because i dont think no one makes a-arms for the 250ex (which sucks) u can buy new oem a-arms from honda . the elkas will give u more ground clearance to

honestly id rather not deck out my 250. so many things it needs and lacks IMO. just save up a little and get a 400 like what im doin. itll be much better in the long run i think. my .02

They look good to me, I made somthing simlar (heavyer and stronger) with square tube the same size inside as the mounts, cut them about 14" long and cut out the material to fit them between and areound the frame so there were 4 of them bolted thought the orgonail mounts in front of them. Then one more up top to move the shock mount out as well. This gives me 3" each side and 2" longer so it would be like a +3+2 arm (with out the extra leverage and travel). It has made a huge diference in stabalizing this quad. I wish it was this way from the start as most people that ride these quads are not expereanced and seem to have problems with them tipping. I did this to my wifes after she had a slow roll going down a steep trail. With the rework done, the CG is now moved back in relation to the front wheels therfore making it lees likly to tip foward. You can now sit straight and turn at almost full speed without lifting a wheel now.
The option to use better shocks intregs me, but will need to address the rear first as that seems to be the worst area at this time.

i was wondering about that ebay kit too. If anyone has tried it, lemme know how it is. I just got the durablue axel (2+2) and the front spacers (1.5"), but I wish they had a-arms for it. I don't really trust the spacers too much. AND... Even if I buy a new 400ex, I am still keeping my 250ex cause it it awesome and anyone can ride it.

well, the same guy on ebay sells just one piece of that kit, used to be able to mount 400ex or 450r shocks, a arms, and tie rods...seems like a good solution to the a-arm problem to me.

theres the piece i was talking about, for a "250X" which is a recon, so it will fit the "EX" as well, correct?

i know im not correct in my above post, but could someone w/ a lot of knowledge inform us on the parts listed in both links in this thread and their effectiveness on a 250EX please?
