i hate to say this but, the 450R , has the yfz on topend. I believe top speed is really close to 80.. And a few guys on here have GPS hooked up to them and they said. 78.5.. I believe its atleast that if not just a smidge more..

According to my gearing calcultor, with stock gearing, stock tires, and at 9500RPM, the 450R should do 79mph this is on dry road of course. 77mph at 9250 RPM.

The YFZ with stock gearing, and tires and its rev limit of 10,100 RPM, its top speed is 74.88 mph on a dry road of course.

that is using all the correct gear ratios for the Honda and the Yamaha.

For what its worth, Sunday, on Rt.111 near my house, my 450R (with 13T front sproket) was DEAD even with my friend's DS 650 BAJA, wide open, 5th gear. So figuring that quad has about a 72MPH top speed...

Of course, that was with the boys in blue in pursuit...

You don't have to be faster than the cops, just faster than your friend on the 300EX! :D

LoL just kidding, we all managed to shake them. Giddy-up!

That could be true, the tries can spin that fast, but can they do that into the 75 mph wind.

really, i find it hard to believe that they do 80, or 78 even, i have seen em, they are fast, but not like that, but thats my opionion, really here is a good way to test them, if you know of any cool cops, find a long strech of blacktop and have him radar gun you
