This topic has been beaten to death. Stock vs stock with equal riders then a banshee will almost always win given equal traction.
Pipes really wake a banshee up, T5 and CPI's have given close to a 10hp gain on some machines.

Stock R hp= around 30
Stock shee hp= closer to 40

if your going straight , a Banshee will usually pull on the R, in any other situation, the R will SHINE;)

I would put my honest opinion in here, but it would only make alot of people spazz on this board.

We had both of these bikes, if your a drag racer get a shee. It takes less money to go really fast(porting and exhaust does alot more for a shee then an R). And it has more motor potential......................................... ....

Stock for stock the shee will beat it.

I currently have a 350r and a 370 (just bore) banshee. Both are very ported by the same builder, both have CPI pipes, both have big carbs etc etc. The shee will beat the R, not by a ton, but it'll beat it. I have a lot more money in the R than the shee. If I had the same amount in both bikes the banshee would be over 100hp and a major *** kicker (although it doesn't do bad now, very hard to find a gas bike that isn't more than a 4mm stroker that can hang).
I'd say if you want to drag, get a shee. If you want to jump, MX type ride, trails, etc, get a R.

If you wanna beat a Banshee in a straight line you better have a faster Banshee.
