ok guys here goes. is any one else haveing any kind of problems with their trans. Ours works fine just somtimes it wont shift into 4th gear out of 3rd. its not the rider cause it does it to different riders. I hate to bring it back to the dealer . I don't want any one ripping it apart. I'm hopeing it will warein . but I think its wishful thinking. the quad has about 25 hours on it now (no races yet). I've changed the oil and have installed the HRC kit. Its more annoying than anything else. Like I said it only does it once or twice a day. that all day riding. the shifter pulls up like its goin to shift but it dosn't go. any body else getting this?:(

i was ridin today...power shifting through the gears (noclutch, just let off the gas) and i shifted up to fourth and started pulling then popped down into 3rd

It did this because i was shifting to fast and did pull up and give it enough time to engage 4th gear. ive done this on a 400ex too. Is this what you are experiencing?

Once you installed the HRC kit it is now a race quad and has no warranty!

My clutch cover is cracked from the kicker and leaks oil and I have to pay for it !

i dont know about that, my warrenty covers the HRC kit since it was a factory option, and so does the extended warrenty. sucks about your case though, might see about taking it to another dealer

If the dealer told you no warranty they just don't want to. Take it to another dealer and don't go back to that one.

You ever try re-positioning your shifter so your boot gets under it better???
I had trouble going threw the gears, and moved it up a notch or two on the splines, works great now!

I talked with our DSM today from Honda and he told me that the HRC kit DOES NOT void warranty.

My problem was the shifter position. I wear alpinestars size 12 and since I moved it up a bit, it hasn't missed a shift.

9300ex, please tell me this was your problem! It sounded like to me that honda worked hard on this tranny to make it work, considering they beefed it up a bit. I cant see these 450's just not wanting to shift into 4th gear. Test out your lever positioning man! get back with us.

Great News.
It was the position of my shifter, i had not moved it up enough i had to move the shifter up even further. I moved it back down 1st and it made it worse by not letting it shift into second, moved it up further than the 1st move, now it works great.

I had to move mine up alot due to my boot size, i can now ride with my foot under the shifter and it does not feal bad.

This also happens from new boots!

But good to hear it wasn't a tranny issue.
