NEED HELP!!!!! starter

ok today when i was ridin my four wheeler cut off while i was going to get a allen to tightn my chain and it cut off and then i started and it started but it kep on turnung over and then i cut it off took the key out and it was still turnin over so then i reacted fast and snapped the wire off my battery so if it keeps turnin over like that do i need a new starter or what ???? and if i do how much am i lookin at price wise and i need help i wanna ride this week!!! thnks

More than likely if the starter was still getting power the problem is before the starter. Check your starter button, and clean it up. Put a meter across your starter solenoid, test for continuity. The solenoid may have siezed closed?
