the auto de comp has nothing to do with engine breaking. it's due to the design of the motor.

The compression release advances the cam when it's not running so that when your trying to kick it over the exhaust valves are open so you don't get compresion kickback. It also does this a tiny bit when you let off the gas going into a corner, but it still has engine braking comparable to that of the 400ex motor which also has auto decompression. it's nothing like a 2 stroke if that's what you're thinking.

I have a crf and its like a 2 stroke in the corners as in if u let off the gas and it continues at the same speed into the corner instead of like the 400ex where u can feel the engine holding you back. You can notice it most when going down hills. There is nothing you can do about this but i perfer it over engine braking. you just have to be alittle harder on the brakes.
