i have both in my garage. except my 450r is in 100 pieces. i dont even get on the raptor anymore. it is junk comparetively speaking.

The raptor is faster in some spots but the 450r is faster in alot of different spots i personally have experince with a raptor and dont like it but never rode the new 450r i think the 450r is a better all around bike

450R will win in a short drag, but anything over 200 yards or so the raptor will walk on by.

not true, my rappy has has full exhaust, jetted, and proflow kit. the 450r has full hmf exhaust, jetted and i walked all over it. but you can take it for what its worth.

i have dragged my 450r against a 660...we were both stock and dragged for a really long ways...i got the jump on him easliy and was pretty far ahead and when we was in fifth we stayed an equal distance apart

The raptor is not even in the same league, seems all anyone here wants to talk about is the motor and how fast something is...who cares.......theres a lot more to building a good quad than just the engine. Its all about engineering folks......
All the hondas (probably even the 250!) have better handling characteristics than the raptor if you ask me. The 450R is a very well thought out highly engineered machine.....if you want to compare it to anything compare it to the YFZ.

Back to the original question....if you want an "all around" machine...you want a Honda.

Well here goes... i dont own a raptor but i do own a predator and a 450R also my retired Duncan 440ex..

in a straight line drag down a flat road Its IOWA! anyway the 450 literally smokes the predator.. and i havent got a chance to race my buds yoshi piped raptor with my 450 because it is in the process of being tricked out with what ever i can find.. but i can tell you this.....my predator((my piddle **** around quad)) beat up on a raptor in a drag and as i said 450 beat predator...so that will tell you.you do the math as for how handle...the predator just as well be a hood ornament compared to the 450r

I raced 3 yesterday. beat them all by alot. But they were mostly stock as I was and had only about 2 hours on my R. Great way to break it in:macho :blah:

I guess. I'm no internet racer. But yesterday I beat three of them by alot. I had 22's with stock gearing. Out of the raptors one had 22's one tooth smaller in the front. The other two had stock tires and stock gearing. After I beat the raptors a guy on a YFZ claming he has the fastest atv in the world and he has like 50-something hp stock wouldn't even talk to me when I went to ask if he wanted to line up. Thats just what happened yesterday. Alot of factors could come into play. I'm done internet racing now BYE!!!

:p internet racing , thats a good one lol , i love my r , and since i am just getting back into riding seriously at 39 yrs. old ,i dont think i could handle anymore speed , in fact i think i am gonna try the 39 out back since woods are my thing....acceleration is where its at 4 me

Yeah.i got rid of it tho now.got a great price out of it.after having the R thre 440 was useless to me...now once i get the R race prepped ill have it out there!!! im really excited.for i have been out with a serious back injury...last season i got landed on and had all summer to go into rehab for it.but a short time and a few pins later im really excited!!
