How hard would it be to have someone install a 440 big bore kit? What all do you have to do besides put in the sleeve and install the new piston and gaskets?

They also have to bore out the cylinder so the bigger sleeve will fit.

Just got my cylinder back. They had to heat the cylinder, press out the old one, bore the aluminum, press in the new steel 440 sleeve bore the new sleeve and then surface the whole thing to make sure there is a clean mating surface:blah:

..and I'm sure they had to hone that new sleeve to fit the piston too.

When you install a new sleeve you heat the jug and the old sleeve drops out. When the new sleeve is installed it has to be bored and honed because you have to account for a certain amount of "crush" on the new sleeve when its installed. Then they will put a mandrel in the cylinder bore, put it in a lathe and clean up both ends.
