ok i have had maxxis razars and itp whole shots and at the track recently i seen a dude with some turf tamers and he has the grips cut how he liked them and he said that i would pick up better with the turf tamers better than my whole shots.... now i seen in the magazines the tires were cheap like $30 and i seen a couple of the best locals around using them also so are the tires actually pretty good?

For the money they can't be beat. I run tamers most of the season....drier tracks they work best. I always thought it was hype too...then I up and bought some. Mine aren't grooved, some guys do. I don't see that much of a difference.

Tamers are great on a hard packed "bluegrooved" mx track. But for the loose loamy stuff nothing works better than the new Holeshot MXR's. The thing with the tamers is that they wear out fast because of the soft compound.
