what is the stock 400ex silencer made of? is it steel or aluminum? will shortening a stock silencer give me any performance and is it worth doing it? wat is the best way of shortening a silencer?

the stock silencer is steel im pretty sure and i doubt you would make any performance gains like that anyway. just maybe a little more noise. why do you want to shorten your stocker when you have a pc t4 anyway?

a lot of work for pretty much nothin.....k&n filter and jetted will give you more power if he doesn't want a pipe. I would just leave it as it is....me and a friend tried to mod his stock pipe, and it didn't give him any power gains...MAYBE a little low end, not anything like a slip-on would give you though. Tell him to get a pipe and he will be much happier;)

You won't get any gains from shortening it. You will get amazing gains if you gut it.
