The plastic on these is nothing but a joke. This is from the quad being rolled over on its side, not wrecked, just laid over.

Wow, that bites. I realize they're heavy, but that looks like brittle plastic. I'd be pissed too.

Yep that's definitely brittle plastic. It should take a lot more than that to break it.

I'd be pissed too. im most certain its the weight of the quad....look at snowmobiles, u may or may not understand how sturdy the hoods r, but if i roll over a 2 stroke 600 sled, the hood isnt going to crack unless its a huge hit....now we recently rolled a 4 stroke 660,....the whole hood cracked right up...same chassis and hood as the 600 sled....the 4 strokes heavier weight is the main cause, the same with the v force....at least on a regular utility rancher, sportsman, grizzly, prairie, etc... u have the metal racks that protect the plastics pretty well, if u removed the racks and rolled it not only would u be paying for new handlebars, dash/gauge pod, and a steering post for rolling it over in the first place but no racks would destroy the plastics...i kno the v force isnt extremely heavy but its weight is part of the cause, and the way it flipped can affect it....also assuming it is still winter time, its cold outside and now if we all had the basic common knowledges from science classes etc.. u kno that in the cold the plastics become more brittle and in the summer or heat are more flexable:eek2:

There is ABSOLUTELY no reason for the plastic to break this easy other than its just brittle as Hell. I own a green V-Force that I've done a 360 degree roll on and just got a few scratches. The day this happened it was 60 degrees. On another forum a guy was telling me about how he just leaned on his while it was on his trailer and it broke a piece of the rear fender off.

yeah that plastic would have to be extremely brittle for it to break like that. it broke almost like really old plastic that has been out in the sun to long.

Ouch!, I'd be peod too. That plastic does look cool when it's not broken though.

I'd buy the orange version then.

I don't think wieght even plays that big of a factor. While yes the V is heavier than other quads, you are still talking about 350 + on a thin piece of plastic. I believe it has to do with the way that plastic has to be hard to handle getting that shrink wrap type graphic put on it and that is it.

I noticed when I was at our local dealer that the Limited Edition 700's had very rigid platic. It felt like you could break it by pushing down on it. It felt like it was made from carbon fiber.
